If only the timer could be replaced with the KDS-18 timer and all of that stupid water heating eliminated. |

All of that "stupid" water heating increases its performance, especially for those who have their water heater set at low temps and/or with long runs to the facet/dishwasher. Honestly, I wish my KDS-18 did that. I was never bothered by them in my KDS-19 or KDS-20 and I had my water heater set at 160F with 150F coming out of the tap. It still heated the water for approx. 10 minutes. Selecting "Heavy Wash" would cut the heating time in half using a quick purge cycle to preheat the interior. I do agree it would have been better to run the motor while filling and continuing running an additional 1-2 minutes after the tub is full. Then stop and heat to 150F. Too much amperage draw for most electrical circuits of the day to run the motor and both heating elements at the same time. I'm guessing it would take a dedicated 30 amp circuit to pull that off. |

They could have circulated water during the fill and then stopped the motor to heat the water on a 20 amp circuit. It just would take a more expensive timer. |
