I don't know exactly where to post about this, but if anyone is repairing or restoring an old faucet unicouple like for a portable washer or dishwasher, this product makes an old one work like new. Jeff and I replaced the little dogs that go in the faucet coupler of a dishwasher. The new ones held the coupler on tightly so that it did not leak, but it was the devil's own task to get them to lock onto the adapter by jiggling with the plastic ring. I had a sudden thought to go downstairs and get the tube of SIL-GLYDE. I applied it with a toothpick to both sides of the little dogs, both on the inside of the collar and on the outside where the coil spring is. Now it works easily and the "Unicouple" can be connected with just one hand. This product is also referred to as silicone grease. It is unique in that hot water does not float it away. When I use the portable dishwasher, I remove the unicouple from the faucet during 3 of the 4 drain periods on the Water Miser cycle because I use the hot wash water to wash down both sink bowls and the first wash water to clean out the garbage disposer. It has to be reconnected after each drain. The last rinse water is used to rinse down the sink bowls because the rinse agent in it allows the bowls to dry streak free with no hand wiping. Having to reconnect the unicouple so many times makes easy reconnecting a real plus.

It is good. I’ve always put a very light coat of it on new Amana/Speed Queen brake pads to keep them from making a creaking sound when they hold all the weight and motion of the washtub full of water and clothes to keep it from indexing while the agitator moves all of that weight in each direction.

also referred to as silicone grease.

It contains silicone but its not 100% silicone grease. I've used it to lubricate Maytag washer damper pads when I didn't have silicone grease on hand.

Doesn't dry out in the extreme environment of disc brake caliper boots, can't say that about some far more expensive brake lubricants I've used.
