One thing I loved about vintage KitchenAid, Hotpoint, and other dishwashers of that time, were the rounded edges on their drop-down drawers. Much more safe than the square, lacerating corners of dishwashers after about 1957 on up to current models. I realize the square corners may allow for more capacity, but have to be maneuvered around carefully to keep that red stuff from coming out of people.
