Imo the most even cooking, well built microwave oven ever produced! There is a slight difference in heating foods/cooking in a Radarange from this design. The fan driven plate design "stirer" built into the top of these ovens negates need for a silly turntable. The Radarange is my daily driver for foods, the newer ge otr gets used to heat water!

.....I purchased back in 1977 except mine had a slider above the dials to select the cooking power.
That feature was called "Cookmatic". I rarely used anything but full power. I gave the Amana to my boss at work for her son to use in his home when I re-did the kitchen and got my GE JVM150 over the cooktop microwave (that was in 1988 and I'm still using it to this day). I still have the record album that came with the Amana (celebrating the 1976 Bicentennial) and the special Corning skillet with the special coating on the bottom that heats up in the microwave. |

That looks exactly like the one my neighbors the Wilsons had until about 10 years ago. I don't remember what went wrong with it that caused them to replace it. |

A goodwill find here. This model was produced before the "touchmatic.", but the electronic models before mine had the extra nice, sensitive glass covered electronic touch pad. Very little finger pressure was needed on those.
The other great feature on my electronic version (dial and touchmatics) is the time AND power can be changed on the fly, while cooking, similar to a stove. Since learning of this feature when these were first produced, Ive judged all other microwaves by this. Also, entering '0' then cookmatic sets it back to high. Very usefull feature when trying to simmer without resetting. Why didnt other manufactures copy this instead of the mundane "add a minute" or "add 30 seconds" feature available today.
