Hello, newbie here, please bear with me. My Maytag A9600 is making a loud "bearing gone" noise only during the spin cycle. I have already replaced the tub bearing on this machine about a year ago. I want to know which bearing could possibly need replacement now. I'm sure my transmission is fine, I do think it could be the sleeve bearing seized on the shaft when I did the tub bearing replacement. Any advice on where to start will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

It's hard to diagnose the noise without a video. If you can upload a clip on youtube or another platform, it would greatly help.

Only the tub bearing and radial bearing in the brake package are operational during the spin cycle. Make sure you're not misdiagnosing the noise over worn damper pads.

When you replaced the tub bearing, did you install a new stem and boot seal or reuse the old one?

If the noise sounds like this, it's a failed tub bearing.

That's a worn radial bearing, no doubt about it.

This is a common size bearing that's used in a lot of automotive axles so you should be able to locate one fairly easy.

Maytag Part# is 200720. The common non Maytag part# is 6206zz.

Thank you very much for the diagnosis! I appreciate your help very much. I will let you know how the repair/replacement goes after I obtain the correct part and install it. 🙂

Yes,it was a worn radial bearing, part number 22003441, and thanks again for the correct diagnosis to my washing machine problem, which was a loud noise only during the spin cycle. The repair process would have been much easier for my husband and myself if we only had that special brake tool. However, my husband improvised using a vise grip and some muscle, ha ha! My washing machine is running smoothly and quietly once again 👍
