Right im a modern man and im not shy to say finding this has just sent a stream of tears down my cheeks. So many memories from my childhood. Adverts from 1988 For Darren maybe - Ariel Liquid in a Hoover Logic with the Ariel Ball I love so much! The original one! Ariel Powder, how I used to love that advert with all them washing machines stacked in a factory, Ariel the essential component LOL Fairy Snow although I dont remeber that ad And For Stratus- A Phillips washer ad! And finally my favourite vacuum cleaner Ad all in the same link - The Vax my parents had briefly inbetween my Mums first Moulinex Upright and the Hoover Turbomaster TOL Upright. Mum had the Vax when a radiator in our house sprang a leak and wrote off a brand new living room carpet. Like myself Mum does not get on with cylinders and after a couple of months the Vax was banished to the garage for cleaning the cars out and cleaning the carpets although they were never as good as the advert shows. Scandalous! Nick |

The Vax did sterling service until last year when Mum replaced it with the XL Vax Upright cleaner after I bought A Vax Rapide with rotating brushbar for the white carpet Sarah and myself had in our new house. These machines are very impressive with their cleaning. Thankgod for upright carpet washers. Nick |

Hi Nick I love looking at old things. Someone on Ebay is selling a DVD with old catalogues on. They date from, 1959, 1974 and 1990. It's only a few quid. I got one and it's fascinating for the price of a sandwich. I can't get the link to work but if you type Grattan Catalogue it will come up. Are the ads you are talking about on youtube? Rob |

Here is the link, Sorry guys In had to compose myself slightly. Having a bad day. Had some other news yesterday about my Brother moving to Glasgow last week and nobody even thought to tell me he was going. This has kinda driven a wedge again between my Parents and myself. He comes back at weekends though, when Im working. Poor guy is only 18 and has no idea how to do a thing for himself. Nick The Link! CLICK HERE TO GO TO aquarius1984's LINK |

Was about 1988 or so. I loved the music to it which was kinda like the elephant march in the Disney film dumbo. I remember how an arm of a shirt slipped out of the door to set the dryer times and then slid back in before the door shut. If you find it before I do let me know and I will love you forever LOL Nick |

I'm sorry for your troubles, both of you. Should not happen. Who manufactures the "Aqualtis" machines I've seen in other threads, and where? Are they improved over the "Ultima" machines? |

Darren, Not sure if you remember them ads but although I was only 4 years old, that Ariel Powder Ad sticks so well in my mind.... I could never work out what the machines stacked in the factory were, oh how I tried! but now ive seen it again sadly they are just Computer Generated Nothings.... I would also like to see the Lenor one where the Mum washes her sons duvet cover when he is poorly (Hoover Logic and dryer in that one) and then shakes the duvet over him in bed. The patten on the duvet was a country scene with flowers in a field that came to life. more animation.... great ad. Nick |
