Last night I visited Trainguy's place and had a great time.

As soon as I get a place to put these, I will be taking these. Not only my first vintage washer/dryer pair, but my first washer/dryer pair period (which I'll be using when I get my own place now.)

A 1978 Frigidaire Custom Imperial set with lighted consoles :D

Wow, that's quite a score, Spats. Not everyone gets a TOL GM-era Frigidaire as their very first set. Congrats!

Watch out Spats, any more collecting and you may have to do the Pittsburgh wash in! Oh, I like the pink panther on the insulation above the washer too.

You lucky so-and-so!

Of all the GM Frigidaire's, the 1-18s are #2 on my list, the Rollermatics are #1.

You are going to have a great time with these machines. The dryer is superb. The opening and the lint filter make it so very easy to use.

Thanks everyone :)

These are still at Trainguy's place until I am able to take them. So I can't get any more pics or actual videos for a short while. But as soon as I can ;)

Mike,

I'm so glad that you got to visit. I never let anybody go home empty handed. We'll continue to add to your collection. Are you ready for Saturday's trip?

Rich

You'll love 'em

My '79 1-18 is also both my collection and user. At 27 years old, it's the best washer I've ever owned and, of course, at least one GM Frigidaire should be in any collection! I knew older, 40-60's washers were prized by collectors, but it wasn't until I found this site I realized the 1-18s are very popluar too!

Devise something to defeat the safety switch, you'll be watching the JetCone like TV.

Kelly

I thought the one with the motorized dial is THE set.

And what's happening Saturday? KENMORES you say? OMG!

My mom had a harvest gold washer very much like that one, spats/Mike, but it was a 1972 model. The best washer she ever had, and I loved it! She didn't have the dryer, because she's a clothes line gal to this day.

Hope you enjoy your new washer as much as my mom enjoyed hers!!
