Thought this might be fun to post. New, never installed KitchenAid Model KDS-17. It even comes with a $10.00 customer appreciation certificate!

Turn the detergent dispenser over so if it leaks it doesn't destroy the bimetal strips.

That's a fun one to find, hurricane in a box.  Lucky to get the panels NIB as well, do you know why it was never installed?

It was actually in a house that I bought and the kitchen was never finished. The couple could never agree on how the kitchen should be done and itjust never got installed! I’m having problems convincing my fiancé to keep it, so sadly it will probably end up going up for sale. Although I gotta admit, it sounds like a really intriguing machine to keep!

I have a newfound appreciation for these old dishwashers. Let us know if you decide to put it up for sale. Love the original grease pen marks. Sharp looking new old stock pieces like that are few and far between!

Even without the upper basket wash arm.

Remove the detergent dispenser assembly, rotate it 180° and reinstall.  That puts the bimetal actuators and wires at the top instead of bottom so they don't get damaged when the lid shaft o-rings wear and leak.
