I don't care for him. His suggestions don't work. I'll stick with my trusty laundry detergent and fabric softener and use the recommended amounts of each. Clothes come out clean and fresh. |

And besides, I put laundry detergent and fabric softener in their proper dispensers. |

I agree. I've used fabric softener without issues. I still do. Even worse is only using 2 tablespoons or 1 ounce of the laundry detergent. How will it clean clothes? |

Fabric softener leaves residue in the flush-through dispensers on my Neptune TL and F&P AquaSmarts. The AquaSmarts flush and drain the softener dispenser five times, still leaves residue that needs to be occasionally cleaned. I don't use softener on every load but eventually there's enough accumulated residue that cleaning is required. I can tell when cleaning is needed because the siphon stops working and the dispenser remains full of water. |

Not to mention the effect on a machine . Back when the damm stuff first came on the market it actually attacked rubber parts in machines causing them to perish .it also had a similar effect on elastic in clothing . As an apprentice back in the 70s i would have to clean out disgusting machines and then replace most of its rubber parts . when the customer was paying their bill i took great pleasure in telling them why the bill was so high and what had caused the problem usually showing them the damaged rubber parts . All these years later and it seems people have been brainwashed into thinking they actually need to use this crap . gone are the days when freshly laundered clothes simply smelled of fresh air
