I'm getting my GE Americana refrigerator ready to paint and need help removing the freezer drawer, the refrigerator cabinet doors, trim, hinges, and, if it's manageable, the shell and shelves on the inside of the doors.

So far, I've gotten the chrome trim and gaskets off of the freezer drawer, but it would be very helpful to remove the basket and plastic shell inside the drawer door. The plastic shell needs repair, and the steel rails also need painting. It appears that it is designed to be removed. There are long slots inside the door and two holes on each side.

Thank y'all very much,

Sarah

What color will it be when it returns?

You have to figure that it all went together, it must be possible to take it apart.

Best of luck to you!

Colors

Hi Lawrence,

I'm not sure about colors--I've been thinking white, but I've also considered turquoise.

I feel like I really need someone who knows how to take it apart. Even with the holes and slots, I couldn't find any screws or get the drawer assembly to budge. It's obviously designed to come apart, but I don't want to do any damage attempting to do it myself. I especially don't want to ruin the chrome trim and emblem while removing them.

Sarah
