Hey all,

So, I attempted to post some audio of my Maytag A112 and the strange sounds it's been making in my last post. However, I didn't know what I was doing with Dropbox as it's been forever since I've used it, and the post ended up looking like a disorganized mess when I was done, files mislabeled, etc. So, I decided to fix the labels of the Dropbox files, make sure they were in the proper order, delete the last post, and try again. I think I have everything arranged properly now. What you will need to do to view the files is open the Dropbox links, and hit the preview button in order to reach the audio.

The first link is the washer switching from fill to the beginning of agitation. Listen all the way through, and you will hear the scraping sound fade as agitation picks up speed, almost like the washer is finding its footing, so to speak.

That link will be posted below. I'm hoping that someone here will be able to tell me whether these unusual sounds mean big trouble, or whether it should be an easy repair that someone might be able to execute for me.

There will be an additional link in the first reply containing the audio of the spin drain.

Thank you,

Ryne

And here is the other link, spin drain...

Here is the second link. In this one, the washer is completing agitation and switching into spin drain. I elected to include the end of agitation, because I wanted to illustrate how the agitation is now brisk and completely free of the scraping sound. The sound returns very prominently when drain starts, but goes away completely again once the washer picks up speed, heading into spin.

Please ignore the background conversation heard during the pause between agitation and drain. My wife was talking to me about whether she should trade in her iPad, and I couldn't edit it out, so I apologize if it's distracting.
