Is a KDS-59. Can be converted to built in.

When we bought ours in December of 1983 direct from a Hobart dealer with tax it was around $715.00. This is the day it was delivered, we were still living in our first apartment. We built it in when we bought our first house.

I originally had a KDI-59 but never got to use it. It now happily resides in Long Island. As some of you may recall, I got a very low mileage KDS-58 for free. Gas and tolls not included. Very happy with it.

KDS 20

I bought a KDS 20 portable (does that make it a KDS 60?) around 1984.  I used it as a portable until about 1990 when I moved into a place that had one.  I stored it in my sister's basement.  A couple years later her old Whirlpool died so I told her to use mine.  She built it in and used it for close to 20 years.  She replaced it a few years back without saying anything (she lives 1,000 miles from me).  I wish she would have said something before replacing it because from her description I suspected it needed a new inlet valve.  Of course, her local repairman wanted nothing to do with a machine that old.  It's too bad because she kept it in really nice shape.

She now has a Kitchen Aid with the new upper rack.  I think she got a model 804 but I haven't seen it yet.  She's pretty happy with the new machine.

Hi Ralph - just curious, is that the same 804 with a window like here:

I haven't seen a windowed dishwasher, but if I was 2-4 years old, I would be standing in the front of that Kitchenaid watching the cycle...like our Manx did with our Frigidaire f/l washer and dryer. :-)
