Don't know what happened with the link.
Bob, maybe they were washing fine lingerie', lace, sheers, or 'dryclean only' stuff that would shrink in warm water. That's the only thing I would wash in cold water. CLICK HERE TO GO TO bradfordwhite's LINK on Reno Craigslist |

They could have been washing darks or colors that can bleed easily but who knows. I usually wash all my clothes on warm and never have issues with anything fading or bleeding. Cold water users may think they are saving money but in the long run they aren’t since gook builds up where they can’t see it then replace the machine once it develops a odor “because it’s old” and the cycle repeats itself over and over.

When I first started collecting and fixing washers around 1981, the first machine I got was one very much like this one but it was avocado, had the lighted dial, and had a second rotary switch for a sudsaver.
I was so excited to have it (I was 12). It had black rubber drain hoses with a wire that wrapped around most of the hose to keep it from kinking and an aluminum goose neck on the drain hose. The suds hose was your typical long goose neck hose with the plastic cross/spacer at the opening. The two inlet hoses went into the machine and required removing the wood back to be able to exchange them. |

I asked the seller for some pics for whoever is on the west coast. Very nice washer! Hope someone can save it and update us on it if so.
