I have found the leak and it is at the 7 o’clock position where the tub is welded down at the bottom.

I still haven’t managed to get the agitator off, the thing I have noticed is that my agitator cap/shaft is different to others, it has the threads coming through the agitator from the shaft unlike others that have the cap go through the agitator. Would that make the process any different?

Hopefully the leak you described isn’t anything major and if there are run holes in the tub, it’ll have to be welded and that’s what I had to do to the tub on my 1963 RCA Whirlpool Imperial Mark XII washer.

It’s just a pin hole, nothing major.

There is rust elsewhere on the tub but no leaks from there.

I would have it welded, then clean up the spots on the tub with acetone, then put some POR15 on the rust spots to prevent it from rusting any further.

I don’t have a welder on hand atm but I do have some JB type stuff that could work well.

The motor bearing does seem very loud, any specific type of oil that I need to use?
