About how often does that boot fail, and need to be changed? Thanks alr2903 |

With average in home use, on average how long before you have problems with a boot before it would start to leak? just average ballpark? I would like a f/l and i just wondered. Thanks. alr2903 |

alr2903----- My former FL, a 1996 Frigidaire is still going strong in a 2-family apartment unit and has not needed a boot replacement. Unless you're really hard on the boot itself, it should last many years before needing replacement. Toward that aim, gently dry water off the boot after your last load of the day. Don't rub the boot! I also leave the door on my machine slightly ajar to help dry the interior of the machine to prevent musty odors. (I now have a 2003 Frigidiare FL). What kind of FL washer do you have? |

And think of the other benefit of leaving the door open: Your cat has a cool place to hang out, just as long as you look before tossing your clothes in. |
