Just bought another Vintage Malleys washer. This one is coming from interstate so look forward to doing some videos of it. This one is a 1898. the machine i am currently restoring is an 1896 so i believe it is from the same time. the 1896 has a heating element and more features on it from what i can see.

It has the magic clean filter however i don't believe it has a heating element in this one.

I will put up some better pictures of it when i take delivery of it in a couple of months additionally i will also put up a video if it is all working properly.

heating element???

Wasn't aware that those top loaders that are Whirlpool relatives have internal heaters in them. That would be a nice feature here in the states that would make hot water washing more commonplace here for whites and high soiled loads

The major issue i have found with the model that had the heating element was they tend to use a massive amount of electricity. i also thought it was causing the rcd to trip but when i tested the element it checks out fine.

This one has the red white and yellow plastic lights on it the same as the model with a heating element however the red one will likely have power written on it rather than heating.

I think i only ever used the heating element once.
