I spotted this refrigerator for sale and I love the styling but I am concerned that it is missing the freezer compartment door? The seller says it never had one but I've never seen a refrigerator without a door over the freezer compartment. CLICK HERE TO GO TO Snail's LINK |

I think this refrigerator is a 1956 model, though this is the first Moffat version I've seen. As Moffat was the Canadian division of AVCO, they made Crosley and Bendix appliances in Canada. I'm sure there is supposed to be a freezer door, and I doubt it will function properly without. |

My Aunt Imogene had a 1956 Crosley Shelvador that looked just like this one, only I think hers may have been slightly larger and it had a water reservoir in the top part of the door. When you pulled the handle towards you it dispensed ice water from a spout just under the bottom of the handle. It was quite handy.

Cool!! The water dispenser sounds awesome. It's too bad this is missing its freezer door 🤔 it seems like something that could be hard to find. |
