Dead dryer

I would start by taking the top off and start checking wire connections, door switch timer control connections at the junction block where the cord connects to the wiring harness etc.

Compact dryers like this have problems with wiring connections often times timer could be bad of course but thatís easy to check or bypass to see if thatís the problem.

Good luck with the dryer and I hope things improve with your dad.

Thank you, how do I get the top off

As Iíve tried and doing the three screws at the back and pushing forward to see if that would release any clips, but that didnít work do you have any ideas?

usually you push the top to the rear after the screws are removed.

I somehow thought it was the reverse

And I think it might be the door switch as I can hear it Click but it doesnít then start, and Iíll check whether cable goes into the dryer which is behind the dust cover for the heating element

Good news got working

But the idler pulley appears to Squeak until it gets up to speed, itís not allowed Squeak is just something that happens for about 30 seconds and then itís good

Hi Adam , glad you got it sorted , those Creda dryers are so simple to work on and tend to last . does it vent on the rear only or sides ? Over here they had optional front vent ?

Is that an Aussie front vent dryer the Creda is stacked on , Looks interesting ?

The dryer underneath is an Aussie Hoover dryer, I believe (no proof but they are very similar) based on a Fisher and Paykel design from NZ.

Yep that dryer on the bottom is a Australian made Hoover,

And the creda is a rear vent dryer But it has a little filter in the front, which in my opinion is actually quite weird I wouldíve thought that They should have put it in the very back of the dryer as the dryer does have a window,
But itís obscured by the lint filter

And weíve swapped them around, as we wanted it to be more stable,
