I would start by taking the top off and start checking wire connections, door switch timer control connections at the junction block where the cord connects to the wiring harness etc.
Compact dryers like this have problems with wiring connections often times timer could be bad of course but that’s easy to check or bypass to see if that’s the problem. Good luck with the dryer and I hope things improve with your dad. John L |

As I’ve tried and doing the three screws at the back and pushing forward to see if that would release any clips, but that didn’t work do you have any ideas? |

And I think it might be the door switch as I can hear it Click but it doesn’t then start, and I’ll check whether cable goes into the dryer which is behind the dust cover for the heating element |

But the idler pulley appears to Squeak until it gets up to speed, it’s not allowed Squeak is just something that happens for about 30 seconds and then it’s good |

The dryer underneath is an Aussie Hoover dryer, I believe (no proof but they are very similar) based on a Fisher and Paykel design from NZ. |
