David, I felt the same way when Sears came out with the center dial black panels in like 1975 or 1976. That was such a come down after all the different panel designs in the 1960s through early 1970s. I felt the above panel design that came out when they went full-line Direct Drive in 1986 was an improvement and began offering more features again. Especially on the dryers.
