As for the spin speed, I would use it according on what you're washing. Most times, you will use the normal speed for everyday laundry such as cotton, linen, towels, shirts, sheets, jeans, mixed loads. |

Thanks GELaundry4ever, but what I mean is would the slower spin speed be easier on the washer? |

You definitely want to use low speed either for agitation or spinning as little as possible on a filter flow washer if you want the machine to last longer.
GE was about the only company that used a clutch that just slipped continuously when it was on low, we occasionally ran into customers that use low speed exclusively and the clutch would just grind itself into dust and you would have a big repair. As others mention you also ruin your dryer using a low speed spin, and a 600 RPM spin is not fast enough to wrinkle or damage anything. John L |

As others have stated, I would leave it on normal speed for greater longevity. Most of my laundry is normal everyday cottons anyway. I wouldn't bother using gentle and just leave it on normal. |
