I really need to finalize my rough in plumbing for the drain. I bought a duratub with the dual spigot for suds saver at the architectural salvage store.

I've decided that instead of a normal washer standpipe I'd rather use this sink to drain.

I want to have all of the water hoses hidden if possible. Can I have the water supply hookups hidden behind the washing machine with a hot and cold valve in the wall above the machine like in the 4th picture? I think it would be much more attractive than the standard wall box hookup. I can't see any rules about doing it this way in the code book.

Congrats on your duratub find. I’ve wanted one for a long time but they aren’t in my area and the couple I’ve come across on line couldn’t be shipped because the seller was apprehensive. Enjoy

Are you looking to use it in a suds-saving application? If so, take note of the hose arrangements for the pieces you are missing. Mustee's system allowed suds-saving water to be collected, while still permitting overflow draining, but there were extra attachments that had to be used.

A few photos are in my Mustee Duratub 93 thread:

The metal clip on the drain apparatus is meant to secure a plastic stand tube-like pipe that allows rinse water to go down the drain while the tub holds the wash water. It's not a straight tube, it has a bit of an offset to the shape.

Had one of these tubs for years, trashed the cabinet long ago, but saved the tub and integrated it into a standard sinkbase cabinet. If I don't forget I'll get a picture of the tube and post it if anyone needs to see the shape.

The tub is not made of a very good quality poly, stains easily. Mine dates from the mid '70s and has not aged well.  I have a very nice cast iron deep sink in the wings to replace it, but that is far in the future, too much other stuff to do before I get to that.

Restored, Suds-Saver laundry sink

I restored and repainted this laundry sink and added the sudssaver hardware from an older one about a year ago in my laundry room.

I did all the plumbing behind the wall. It’s going to be hooked to my 1952 whirlpool washer when I finish the restoration on it.

Dura tub restoration

Filling a pvc pipe with hot sand makes it so malleable it can be shaped into any shape so the offset will not be hard to replicate. I found a seal that should work on Amazon for the base.

Then it's just a turqouise gell coat for the tub and a repaint for the cabinet. I might polish the aluminum suds spigot and irridite it in a gold tone.

I've decided I will install hot and cold wall valves above the machine and plumb the hookups lower on the wall behind it so none of the hoses are visible.

I have a soft spot for the EL Mustee company.  I always wanted the duratub.  My home has a double laundry tub and shower pan and walls from Mustee.
