I have A quick question about installing the new Maytag 2095720 Washer Mounting Stem & Tub Seal Kit. Does anyone know the spring-loaded Agitator seal is no longer required when installing the new seal kit? I noticed the new kit has a rubber seal built in the tub mounting stem.

You do not use the old spring loaded seal with the new style mounting stem kit.

Keep in mind that the agitator shaft needs to be nearly perfect to have a good seal with the new lip type seal. Otherwise it will not last long.

Maytag A9600 is in amazing condition

Thanks John! I recalling someone telling me this, but I was not certain who. The last time I rebuild a Maytag was in the late 80's when the orbital tranny was first introduced. All my factory updates are outdated...lol Funny how I remember all the old tricks of the trade working on Maytag's (30+ years ago!). The A9600 is in amazing condition (some light rust). Everything came apart easily - agitator shaft is in perfect condition!! Transmission is in very good condition, I had a spare tub mounting kit I bought from Ebay a few years back and tub bearing kit in my parts supply.

The first load worked well, quiet and no leaks!
