It's like someone scrubbed off most of decals on the panel.

I wonder what the switch is next to the timer knob. That's usually used on the TOL models. Probably end of cycle buzzer.

Oh M-AAA-NNNnnnnn! Look at the horrendous gas burner staining around the door opening. Dear lord. It's been pointed out before how filthy these gas dryers are. This is an excellent example. Gross! Imagine the clothing. How stained the fabrics are.

I seen a GE dryer from the early to mid 80’s that was sitting out back of where I graduated back in 2017 (it’s a outdoor theater and used for holding all kinds of events and such) and it was pretty stained and was electric hence the 240 volt dryer cord.

My Maytag DG306 gas dryer from 1973 doesn’t show any staining on the drum or inside the cabinet itself. The staining you see is probably just from years of use plus the paint GE was using at the timer and possibly to this days will discolor after years of use.
