The kitchen aid and Maytag’s are a fortune as well. I always recommend newer used machines, we got our 2020 Maytag a while ago and it’s incredible. I’ve never used another new machine that has quite as much power as this one does. It was almost brand new when we got it used off a lady who wanted to redo her kitchen all white and she loved the dishwasher and didn’t want to sell it but you know people nowadays everything has to match. White kitchens with stainless appliances are luxurious looking, but whatever we got an amazing machine that doesn’t mess around and gets right to steam cleaning! This is the model from the last generation of Maytag dishwashers, which was based off the point voyager whirlpools from the early 2000s into 2014. They claim this dishwasher has “the most powerful motor on the market” and I really was convinced it was all bluff and talk until I watched the performance of this machine and it’s got as much power as my 2005 powerclean does just about it was very shocking coming from a modern dishwasher. Model number MDB4949SHZ front control Maytag. Highly recommend!

Have a cheap Bosch Ascenta. which we installed about 7 years ago--entirely happy with it. Just keep it full up with rinse agent and let 'er rip. My advice stands, though...take your dishware/glasses to the store and do a test-fit...nothing more discouraging than the favorite cereal bowls/dinner plates/table knives/water glasses simply not fitting in the dishwasher you now have for the next 15 years.

Reply 9. My older whirlpool allows me to raise one side of the upper rack without having to adjust both sides, I think this is the same case for all newer whirlpool models with adjustable racks. It’s such a great feature and all machines should offer it. Our Maytag tall tub that I shared in my reply above is so tall I don’t ever have to worry about anything being too tall on either racks the measurements are perfect, it seems like it has a few extra inches that our old one didn’t have.

Even if Maytag and Kitchenaid are a little more expensive than Whirlpool, they are still cheaper than a Miele dishwasher. In North America, only the rich can afford a Miele dishwasher. You never see them in middle-priced homes. |
