I have a 2019 TC5 the original TC5000WN and 2021 DCS5003 gas dryer. Both are in excellent condition, maybe with a few sigs of average use. Both machines work great. I am a little baffled what I should ask for both? I have decided just to use my direct drive washers. The SQ set just takes up space in my house. Any other hot places to list it other than FB marketplace or offer up?

Craigslist is still a viable but woefully overlooked option.  There are plenty of people who have never wanted any part of FB, and I am one of them.  Also, if you have a Nextdoor platform for your area, they have a classified section and you can be fairly confident that anyone who expresses interest is legit, but you have to become a member in order to post.

Thanks. I’ll have to look more into it. How much would you list the set for? We’re talking very very light use.

I couldn't say.  I only know that SQ machines are pricey.  John L. should be able to suggest a fair asking price.

They are probably worth $2000 for the set but unless someone knows what it is they probably won’t spend that. Hopefully it works out for you.

That’s what I’m thinking. The set looks like an average top loading set from 30 years ago.

It would help if it has a transferable warranty.

Warranty

I think it is transferable, however I believe a TC5000WN only had a three year warranty, and as a 2019 model it's most likely expired. (The TC5003WN has the 5 year warranty.) However the 1921 DCS5003 gas dryer I believe would have the 5 year warranty which should be good for another 3 years or so.

Make that a 2021 DCS5003. I don't think even Speed Queen ever had a 105 year warranty. Ooops

You are correct. The TC5000WN was purchased in 2020, so it's covered up until August this year. But the dryer has the 5 year warranty.

I am thinking it may be best to list the washer separate from the dryer.

Generally I think it would be easier to sell if listed separately, then whoever wants the set would buy both anyway.

I'm not real sure about Speed Queen though. I mean, even for Speed Queen, $1,000 is getting toward the high end for a used three year old TL washer, and I would have an even harder time paying that for a dryer. But if someone was interested in a set, they may look at the savings and convenience they may get from buying both at once for $2,000 over going to a dealer.

So I don't know, if I could figure out how to sell things I might would be rich.

Price for used washer and dryer

People always like to talk about how much money they lose trading in a car in just a couple years, but appliances are much worse in general. You’ll be lucky to get 1/2 of what you paid for them.

That’s why used appliances are often such a good deal There’s no blue book guide to keep the price high on them.

So even though they could be worth close to $2000 you’ll probably be lucky to get 1000 maybe 1200 for the pair.

John.

John, you and I are on the same page it seems. I suggested selling the machines when the OP mentioned over on Youtube that he rarely uses them. I figured selling them for around $600 each would probably entice someone to buy them as they're so expensive otherwise.
