My Estate sale finds for the week. This had to be one of the last true Norge built solenoid brake machines as the design was changed going into the nineties eliminating the brake for neutral drain. This example was built in 1988. It still washes great but there is a lot of horizontal play in the top transmission shaft and there is some oil pooled around the bottom seal although there was none on the floor and this washer has been in the same spot since it was new. Nothing really special about the dryer other than it being a mid seventies survivor. This would be the only magic chef allowed in the collection.

Washer model W20FA5
Serial AB749941

Dryer model DDE7108PHLHT
Serial DZ237653G

The Wash/Rinse/Agitate/Spin labels presumably indicate in some way what's in effect for the selected program button?

The underside lid chart spells out the detail for each cycle button.

Yes each automatic cycle selector button chooses wash temp, rinse temp, wash speed, and spin speed and the selections are displayed digitally above the buttons.

What's the mechanism and method of indicating the active options?  Color of the text?

If you’re able to zoom in on picture 12 you may be able to vaguely see the words underneath the wash, rinse, agitate, and spin columns. Only one word in each column is lit up in the old digital green color at once for the cycle configuration selected. The words are not in very large print. I tried to take a picture in the dark but couldn’t get a clear picture. I may have to try again.

Cottons and linens:

Awesome washer! Congrats on a great find. Love the mini-lint filter so you don't have to remove it to add/remove clothes.

Thanks guys. I’ve definitely forgotten how much I like Norge built machines since I use one regularly again. It would’ve also been neat to have found the dryer with it’s matching filter flo.
