Isn’t this the Same Mrs. Gross from this Maytag commercial from about 1970?

I'm thinking that you're correct.  In which case, she had one more child after the printed ad appeared (she mentions "the 13 of us" in the commercial).

You would think that she would have to be careful standing up out of a chair.

Definitely is. Her hair is shorter.

This ad always reminds me of "Yours Mine and Ours" (1968) with Lucille Ball as the mother of 12.  The first time I saw this movie, my heart leapt at the sight of her basement laundry.  Two sets of Maytags!

35 loads a week, ~ 14,000 loads in eight years.  Washing diapers for more than a decade.

Grandmother's family had 11 children.  They carried water from a well to wash by hand on a washboard.

I wonder how long they had their 1966 Maytag A806 New Generation set, probably ran for about 20 years or more if her older kids moved out by the 70’s.

It was likely replaced in 1974 with an LAA5800 when the transmission started leaking so much oil on the belts and they got tired of doing twice as many loads to get all that laundry done.

...then in 1980, the WP's transmission filled with water.

1974? Didn’t the LAA5800 come to be in the early to mid 1990’s?
