Hello everyone,

I have recently acquired a vintage washing machine, a Kenmore 70 model no. 81675110, serial no. C 7140833, which I absolutely LOVE it works amazing!

But recently my hot water just stopped working it just trickles out.

It was working great but then abruptly went to just a trickle. I looked online and they said to see if there is a clog in the hose my husband said he checked and it was clear, should I check somewhere else or could there be another problem? The cold water still works great so I have been doing all cold water washes.

Any suggestions? Please and a thank you

Did hubby check at the faucet end of the hose, or at the machine's water valve?  There's a screen in the valve's hose connection port, both the hot and cold.

Hmm 🤔 good question, I can check that myself as well so when I get home from work I will take a look into that. Thank you 🙏

From those symptoms...

I would guess that there is a failed inlet valve, given that it happened so suddenly with clear hoses, and that only the hot side is doing it. This is a very easy and cheap repair that you can do yourself. I’ve included a link to a video showing the process.

This is probably a very silly question but...

Did you check to make sure the valve at the wall, where the washer hooks to the house's water supply, is completely open? I'm sure that's probably one of the first things you thought about, but sometimes we miss the painfully obvious when we're a bit panicked about something as major as a washer not working right, so I had to ask.

Otherwise I agree with the post above in that's it's likely the washer's inlet valve, a cheap and easy repair.

@Ryner- that’s okay I appreciate any help. I did check that and it is fully open. I had ordered the part last week and it just arrived today so tonight I will install the new inlet valve.
Fingers crossed…
I will let you all know how it goes.

Thanks again for all your input it is appreciated.
