Hey, if I'm able to go, maybe we can make it a group effort of the Texas contingent! (I don't much like traveling and airports and such, so some traveling companions would be much appreciated.)

Name change

So Austin, are you going to change your name to Westyfrontloader? :-)

All during the time that these machines were the only FL machines left on the US market, I remember that Consumer Reports only had 2 complaints

Poor repair record

small capacity.

I've been told that AOL users might have to press the 'F5' key to refresh their screens properly. Seems odd, but AOL is its own animal.

Darn it! Me too!

While the thought of travelling back to the mainland is repellant, I'm gonna try to work this in. Estate sales? Retromom, did you say estate sales? I'm there! Thrift stores? I'm breaking out in a cold sweat!

BTW one of my favorite drives in the whole world is to take old US HWY 8 west out of Omaha. It takes you through small town america. I always stop in Friend for a coffee or a candy bar. Minden has the Harold Warp Pioneer village which is a days worth of fun. (Avoid the restuarant there, though). I love seeing the old farmsteads and thinking about people that have deeper roots than I ever will...

I always prefer the slower backroads to the ugly interstate freeways.

Omaha is only a few hours away from Newton, IA too, so you can overdose on Maytag stuff.

Sorry Robert but I'm a MAC user. I don't have a refresh button and don't see the icon on the homepage you're speaking of. Any MAC boys who can help me with this? You must all be on PC's.

Hi Les, while I've never been a huge Mac fan, they have to have a "refresh" button of some sort, sometimes its called reload.

Convention '05

I'm going to try my damndest to be there, if I have to take the Greyhound bus to do it (flying is out of the question, to0 expensive) or maybe even drive.

I just made a quick check of the airfare from L.A. to Omaha. Southwest Airlines is showing their "Internet" (in other-words, you book the flight over the internet reservations system at Southwest Airlines.com) a "V" class fare $99.00-$139.00 each way depending on the exact dates for the month of June. That is WAY cheap, you certainly could not drive it for that and I doubt a bus trip could be much less--nevermind the discomfort and the time. From L.A. I would also check Northwest (NWA.com), American and also United. Hope to see you there!

Problems with front page

You people are so lucky that i compwhiz am here

Apperently it is the same becuase you have "cookies" From the previous page.

What youll have to do is go to cokkies and delete the cookies from automaticwasher.org and then try it

And people that are using Ie6.0 you should get a different browser

Bethann's got it with the Safari answer, but holding down shift and clicking reload, like in explorer, will refresh a page too...
And then there's this.... www.dori.com/safariShortcuts.html...

SHIFT key

Holding down the SHIFT key while while clicking refresh in Explorer forces the browser to go back to the site for the new page, not just refresh it from the cache.

Trip cost

You're right, bus isn't much less, though the trip wouldn't bother me, buses are much better now. But the only way to beat either price is to split driving cost (and driving itself) with another person. And there is the advantage of once you arrive, you can get around without using public transportation or imposing on people for rides
