Never seen something like this. Looks like two washing tubs, or maybe one wash and one spin tub?

The Easy looks to be in pretty good shape, a little rust on the motor housing may indicate a leak somewhere, maybe the agitator shaft seal or just a leaky hose. I hope seller didn't leave it lying down, spread-eagle like that for too long - those things will pour oil out pretty quickly. The seller should cancel the bid on that loser, I would. I had a bad experience buying something from a seller - washer parts I think - and never got them after paying. Others were bilked as well and by the time I left my negative feedback, his rating was a negative! | ||

Check the feedback for the high bidder. I've never seen How can that bidder get away with that? From personal experience, if you don't pay for something that you win on Ebay, they won't let you bid on anything else. | ||

David, whoever took the photos is a real pro, though, or CON
the lettering at the faucets is immaculate, and there isn't a speck of rust on the fill/filter system in the rear--usually the first to go, but if Greg says this guy stinks, so be it ; his word is Gospel, the Gospel according to Gdansk, heeheehee But that is one very youthful Easy. Never ebay'ed??? OMG, you haven't lived until you set your alarm clock for 2:31 AM to get up and bid on a must-have item! In the blue'ish auction information section at the center of the page, next to the small picture - you will see the high bidder ID and next to that name (in this case lonnie1949) is a number. If you click on that number, it will give lonnie1949's ebay feedback history. They seem to have had a lot of trouble on ebay and it is shocking that ebay doesn't shut them off to protect their precious sellers. (ebay doesn't give a crap about the buyers - the ones with the money making the whole machine run - there are no protections whatsoever for buyers who pay for goods and never get them, but they have many layers of protection for the buyers and those listing fees!) | ||

So the seller IS a pro; the buyer is a con--four stiffs out of 10. Honestly, those shots--close-ups of the engraving on the faucet plate and the inlet filtraton-- are very telling; somebody really babied this baby. Notice that it also has the kinder, gentler agitator. Is there a way determine its year of birth?

Yes, I do this all the time, especially with rare '58 Buick parts I need. Mickeyd - You can get alot of hard to find things on ebay, often at good prices. Sometimes though, prices get ridiculous (like '58 Buick shift springs that I wouldn't pay $30 for 3 years ago and now they sell for $135!!). I usually have several auctions I'm watching, so I usually bid at the last second, my bid amount being based on how much I've just spent on previous auctions. I know some people hate "snipers," people who bid in the last seconds like me, but I figure that if you want it, you should bid your maximum amount and not complain if someone else bids more - doesn't matter if you are outbid 1 day before auction end or 1 second. Snipers count on the fact that people have a tendancy to NOT bid their highest and they jump in with a higher bid at the last second, not giving the other bidder the chance to rebid at a higher amount. Sometimes you win, sometimes the other guy has bid more than you want to pay. Also, I didn't see your link. I'd like to see the film. | ||

It's the third agitator: the kinder gentler one--the fins neither extend beyond the plate like the white aluminum one, nor flair out at the bottom on a wider plate like the black bakelite. I used this very gentle version for sweaters, but lost it or forgot it 10 years ago when I moved to the lake. You are aware that Easy made agitators in three styles, yes? Was not aware that the small one came in aluminum. But something's ringing a bell. Was it "silver" aluminum rather than enamel coated white? Dim fleeting memory, but solid image. Stick shifts are all earlier models; all later models, both high and low, came with electromechanical controls, the lowest having only one drain switch, for the wash tub, while the spinner was on constant drain --LIKE A BLESSED UNIMATIC! | ||
