Thanks. I'll probably order them if I can't find them anywhere. I'm down to my last tab so I was hoping to pick up a small pack of tabs/pods to tide me over. I can get Lemi Shine locally which looks like it may not have a strong odor. |

Thanks, I did try Finish Ultimate (I think) a couple of years ago but the scent was too strong for me. I went to big box hardware store the other night and they had the Finish Powerball Classic tabs so I'm all set. |

Well I'm one of the few who think the scent of just about every tablet I'd used has always been just right or maybe the stringer the better...
And at least I always knew that if my dishwasher smelled fresh and clean even with the strongest scent then I knew that that it veresus powdered detergent not as strong actually worked! -- Dave |

Cascade offers free and clear no scent pacs. The scent is the best part to me! Eliminates all those nasty food smells during the wash so there’s no lingering odors after the cycle. |

I’m a big fan of Finish classic too. I recently was at Home Depot and in the cleaning aisle and noticed they had 2 packages of 84 tablets for $4.99. I fear that they’re being discontinued. |

this was/is my absolutely favorite dishwasher detergent
Classic Finish Powerball! It's no longer at Costco... so last time I got Quantum... I don't HATE the quantum but it's not as good as the powerball. It doesn't foam and at the end the dishes/dishwasher smells clean/neutral. But there's something in it that doesn't agree fully with my water apparently...It's like a white film on the dishwasher at the end... but yet the dishes are spotless... No white film at all. If I use STPP with the Quantum...perfect results...So when I run a load of dishes I always pour a tablespoon of STPP in with the pod...when I run out... I'm not getting Quantum again. I'll either find powerball when I start running low (which won't be for a while) or get the Costco/Kirkland dishwasher packs again. I will say... the Costco dishwasher pods are BETTER than the Quatum...I sort of got the same results as powerball ...Netural smell at the end...and no white film on dishwasher/or dishes...no foaming either.. |

I've found that even finish ultimate does a great job. It does leave a fresh smell behind, especially considering the dishwasher will smell like food at times. This was true when I had shrimp Alfredo. Same with Cascade. |

The Finish Ultimate tabs look bigger than the Finish Power tabs to me, considering they're plump feeling. That shrimp Alfredo casserole, especially in the pan that it was baked in wouldn't stand a chance in my dishwasher. Like Dave from Oak Park, I am a scent guy. The strong scents of Finish don't bother me. |

The square hard classic powerball with the red ball in the middle is my all time favorite dishwasher detergent... I agree, most of them are way too scented... but some of them are forumalted to smell really strong... but in fact there's no trace of smell AFTER the dishwasher is done....which I've noticed is the case with Finish Quantum...Super strong smell in the bag but zero smell when the dishwasher is done...so you can't always go by how much they smell in the bag and assume that's what your dishes are going to smell like....I don't think Quantum is as good as powerball classic but neither leave a smell behind.

I thought finish classic was being eliminated. I don't see them stores anymore. I typically use finish ultimate which is their TOL detergent. |

Right now I have Kirkland Costo pods and Finish Quantum...They both clean well but I can tell a major difference in the way the inside of the dishwasher looks if I add a little STPP... It's crazy how just a teaspoon full makes the dishwasher stainless shine like new...I've had this container of STPP for YEARS and I'm just getting to the point where I may have to buy more...
anyway - what's intersting about the Kirkland is that I don't feel like they're overly strong scented in the box... not nearly as BAD as the Finish Quantum... However, the Kirkland will leave a slight scent behind.. but get this (make this make sense)... If you go right now and buy the Kirkland Costco pods fresh and start using them right away, that's when they leave the strongest scent behind... But... after they have sat under the counter in their sealed container for some time, say a couple of months... then you start using them, they leave no smell behind (but still clean great).. Weird and can't explain it really... just something I've noticed. And at least in my scenario, the Kirkland works slightly better than the quantum... aside from the slight lingering scent. (at first) Honestly, it would NOT surprise me if they stopped making classic powerball.. Anything that ppl love and works great seems to get discontinued. I see them on Amazon for like $45 for a box of 100.. Seriously? |

I'm now using some Kirkland pods that sat in storage for quite some time and they don't smell as strong as when they were new. Thankfully the pods don't leave a scent behind regardless how old they are as my dishwasher rinses so well. I never cared about the scent Finish Quantum has but thankfully they hadn't left any behind, last time I used Finish Quantum it left some glassware cloudy and I have soft water which I thought was strange. And I can't use rinse aid anymore after it caused my dishwasher to leak. It'll be interesting to test out the rejected Cascade pods that Dollar Tree sells for $1.25 and see how well they'll do. So far, I have found that Cascade Complete in powder has been the best for me.

I'll just stick to my scented dishwasher detergent. It doesn't bother me a bit. |
