Washendry: I think that this would be the perfect mate to your new Bendix (do I hear wedding bells?). |

I can recall quite a few households that had a Hamilton dryer in the 50s...only one that had a matching Hamilton washer. Many women seemed to pair their Kenmore, Frigidaire, or Westinghouse washer with a Hamilton dryer...guess they had a good reputation. I believe they produced the first clothes dryer.

I have seen quite a few Hamilton dryers at sales around here. There was one behind my Launderall dealer's with a chimney on the top of the dryer (looked similar to a water heater) that was very cool. Scott O. (scott55405) was with me, we didn't take the dryer but did snatch the top to a WP washer we swooned over... Another Hamilton that sticks out in the appliance memory slush was similar to the ebay model. It had been mounted on a metal stand in a basement, the first pedestal?? They paired it with a Maytag A700 washer. I had the A700 Maytag washer and matching dryer in turquoise at the time so I snatched the instruction book from the sale. I still have the book. sigh... |
