Did anyone let "Bill The Dry Cleaner" know this was going? IIRC it is located in his neck of the woods and vintage WP/Kenmore "pants" WW are up his street.

IIRC model pictured was Kenmore's TOL WW model at the time and had "Surgolator" agitator.

Then there were also cast aluminum agitators as well.

This was the apple O' my eye, the pristine early 50's Visimatic below and I never got it. Then, a few winters back, either you or one of your generous finder/posters threaded one located in PA. I won the bid for peanuts, but the shipping was an embarrassing &650. When it arrived, Armageddon next ensued:

The box was upside down and the beautiful control panel was smashed to bits; dozens pf popcorn insulation pieces had worked their way into the motor at first unseen, until I started it which then smoked alarmingly; the wringer would not engage because a spring was missing after the shipper separated the wringer which arrived in a separate box, and tranny fluid had leaked all over everything.

I tweaked so bad after many hours of intense work all afternoon and evening that my mind/body shut down. Nightmare is not an overstatement, and I didn't it share with the club.

When I called the shipper, she was so accommodating, filing a complaint against UPS, and so diligent in pursuing them that we got a full refund. It was unbelievable, that last outcome ever imagined. What a relief!

So now I bid and won on this one in your post; it's only an hour's drive give or take, and if it doesn't work, I can scavage it to restore the free broken beast in my basement, or make a Frankenstein.

Thank you so very much for all you do here for all of us.

Michael

Congrats MickeyD on the save.

Saw lone bid before auction closed and was that glad someone made the effort.

Increasingly am finding either collecting in person or going with Uship (which is becoming quite expensive) way to go with things nowadays. UPS, USPS, FedEx and rest just aren't what they used to be.

Ah, the memories of Doris Day and Rock Hudson, her songs, and the sit-com. Quite a lady! Perfection.

Be a nice day trip for us tomorrow to fetch the goods. Will post results here. Thanks again.

Pumps, agitates, times, wrings, and rings the bell. Going to see if I can get the prettier and better Preserved red marbled wringer from the wreck and see if it’ll work on this. What a great day; Cheers what a great road trip!
Cheers.
