I never liked these washers. They're stupid and don't fill enough! |

As Glenn noted in a reply, three, you need to replace the entire bearing and transmission unit.
The only harm and continuing to use it is may eventually start leaking a little water, which will possibly ruin the mode, shifter, capacitor, or motor if you use it too long Let alone any possible damage the water might do to your floors. There is no possibility the machine will suddenly seize and do any damage to the rest of the machine. I’ve never seen that happen, in time it’ll just refuse to spin the water out of the clothing, since the machine has a separate electric drain pump you at least won’t likely be left with a tub full of water. Weather to fix or replace is up to you if you have the ability to do it yourself it might be worth fixing. It’s a little bit hard to get the tub spanner nut out of these after some years they corrode quite a bit. There are several other things that could go wrong with this machine. Other trouble areas are the lid lock mode shifter. The struts were out eventually and there’s always a chance that the main board could fail, but we don’t see that very often although it’s somewhat expensive, although you also can get a used one on eBay pretty cheaply for this washer Good luck let us know what you do with it, John |
