When I was a kid, our neighbor Mary Elizabeth had a dryer like that. At the time her husband was the manager of the hardware store that was the Maytag and Frigidaire dealer in town. One day we saw fire trucks arrive at their house. She had come home and found most of the house filled with smoke. The firemen found the dryer had overheated, and turned the clothes to ashes. The dryer was replaced with a Maytag.

How in the hell is that worth $750? It's not even pink or turquoise, not that they were available then.

This model matched the 1950-1954 Unimatic. This was Frigidaire's first dryer they produced. The first Frigieaire dryer that went with the original Unimatics starting in 1947 were made by Hamilton.

I assume it was a Maytag HOH model.

This was way before the HOH dryers Mr. Font Of Knowledge. The HOH dryers replaced the only Maytag dryers to receive a color check rating from Consumer Reports.

Geez, I’m just trying to engage and encourage a discussion among other people on the site.

It seems as though I can’t say or comment on anything without anyone jumping to conclusions since people can’t seem to think let alone use logic these days. People seem to base everything around emotions, not logical thinking anymore.
