I moved last week and am slowly settling into the new digs. I thought I would show the basement laundry room of the new place, intact with the appliances and real wood panelling. The whole basement (bathroom included) is wood paneled.

Kenmore Dual Action washer and gas dryer. I like how many options the washer has...variable presoak, prewash, and optional 2nd deep rinse.

They even have the manuals. I know that they are Whirlpool made, is the washer direct drive or belt drive? It is 29" wide, and does have an access panel on the lower back of the machine.

How about age?

Guy

Congrats! You have a great old washer and dryer there probably from the mid eighties.

If the washer had a D-shaped tub opening, it's a belt drive.

They look right at home against the wood paneling. Enjoy in good health.

Canadian Kenmore workhorse washer

Appears to be a mid '80's belt drive washer with a short spin post. Very similar to one of my recent Kenmore belt drive washer rebuilds. I managed to locate a Simpson Sears catalogue page in my files of your washer pair. If the washer is in it's original condition, there should be a date stamp on the side of the transmission.

awesome you were able to find the catalogue advertisement! The owners manuals are packaged in a Simpsons/Sears envelope...

It seems like eons since Simpsons closed it doors.

normal cycle

Does the normal cycle on the washer and dryer say cotton/sturdy or just normal with whites and colors settings?
