According to the other thread, the DR3 and DC5 have been updated. That's it.

Wow I’m surprised to see that! It’s kinda been Speed Queen’s thing to mostly ignore the residential market and let them take what Speed Queen has.
These are popular features that make SQ dryers (IMO) actually competitive with the existing mass market brands.
Interesting move.

New Speed Queen dryer models

This is an updated dryer design that doesn’t use a timer. It’s become increasingly difficult for manufacturers to find mechanicals and I’m glad Speed Queen has finally gotten away from them, even though this is the least expensive residential dryer it’s still pretty expensive so it’s not surprising that they would put some premium features on it.

Speed Queen is actually a very good selling brand now it has a widely appreciated reputation for being the most reliable laundry products that you can buy and the most no nonsense ones and customers are buying that large numbers there’s a segment of the population that doesn’t care how much something cost.

Friday I sold a friend of front loading washer, his top load LG washer bit the dust and he asked what the best machine was ( he had had a Speed Queen front load stack in there last home )I said a Speed Queen front loader, didn’t he hesitate when I told him it would be $2200 delivered.

With 150% tariff on imported Chinese products a full-size GE front load washer may soon cost what Speed Queen does, lol

What John said:

"there’s a segment of the population that doesn’t care how much something costs"

Correct. And I'll add; There is the aggravation and inconvenience factor to consider.

Also, when compared to I-phones and other things that are part of life now, appliances still do so much for relatively modest amounts of money. Appliance manufacturers just don't sell them like cell phone plans.

It's just a matter of time before Speed Queen Home comes out with a dual action agitator that's second to none. Think of the heavy loads this brand is known to take on, especially full loads of laundry. Maybe they could increase the speed to 140 strokes and 140 degrees for maximum turnover, while turing the bottom fins into super smooth paddles that have smooth holes for massive tidal wave action on all load sizes from the smallest to the largest.

Jerome, this thread is about DRYERS, NOT washers. Everyone knows your constant posts of how YOU want everything to be and how your way is the only way.
