Did my mother just get scammed?

My mother (71 years old) had her 27-year-old Kenmore direct drive machine finally break, so she bought a Whirlpool WTW4955HW1 washer and WED4950HW0 electric dryer off of Facebook marketplace for $200. She said the listing said they were in new condition.

But she said the washing machine was very loud on the spin cycle, and she shared me a video of the sound and this is what it sounds like according to her video. According to the serial number she shared it was a 2019 machine.

Probably

There’s a reason the pair was only $200, when buying something used like this. You need to figure out the reason why they’re selling them if it doesn’t seem plausible, don’t buy them.

At least she got a good dryer, although she probably didn’t need a dryer.

It seems to run fine other than the fact it has bad bearings.

Good used tranny for a fix

Last year I junked several VMWs because i needed sheet metal for a project-kept and fixed a couple of the nice clean ones-one only had bad lid switch /lock,Bad control board on another-a couple had good transmissions and i kept those.Could check box stores,ETC. for junk VMWs to salvage parts-say you want to salvage wash baskets for flower pots or want one for a kid to take apart,so they don't think they are losing new washer sale to a DIY repair :) If a good tranny found, could just transfer the whole inner works to faulty washer for an easy fix :) If you were close to me,i would hand you a good VMW tranny.
