Control Panel

I love the control panel on that Kenmore 800. I have always liked the detail that they put into their machines.

Yes, and I'm hoping the Louisiana contingent (you know who you are! ;-) ) is reading this right now.

Look, it's a 58 with the jukebox-like controls! ;-)

Baton Rouge

I'll call the guy and see what I can do. I won't be able to get it for the next two weekends but maybe first weekend of Feb. I'll call and ask the guy if he can hold on to it.

It's worth getting and if Todd doesn't want it, I can try to get it.

I emailed about the Whirlpool in Sioux City. I may try to get this, but if any members in the area want to get it, feel free! :)

Ooo Jamie, you need that Whirlpool! Hopefully it still has the red marbleized bakelite agitator.

Hey Ben! Would love to get it! I got a reply and he said he had a few emails and he would like me to make an offer. I hate making offers as I would just like to know what he wants for it and know if it's "doable". I'm STILL not working so couldn't give much. I'll keep you posted tho!

The Lady

If nobody else can get the Kenmore, I can get it the week after next weather permitting. I emailed about the Kenmore but didn't get a response. I'd be willing to drive to Conneticut for it. Number 1 on my wish list and the correct color. It would be worth the drive.

the Whirlpool is getting thrown out tomorrow. The owner is kind of being a dick about it. I had made arrangements with Greg to go up with me Saturday afternoon, and the guy said that was fine, but I just got an email from him saying if I can't get it by noon it will be thrown out. We can't make it to Sioux City by then, so I guess out it goes......

That sure makes lot of sense! Throw it away, and get nothing, instead of working with someone, and getting a few shekels for it.

May all the appliance gods look down with disdain on this person. May he be committed to an afterlife of changing Whirlpool belts, with the wrong tools! May he have a hereafter repairing HOH Maytag dryer heating elements!

Well.... Now I'm the one that is being "bad"
The owner of the Whirlpool has been "wishy-washy" from the get-go. When I first emailed him it was "make an offer". Then an email saying I was the only interested party so make an offer. I offered $20.00 and he said that was fine. Then I got an email saying if I couldn't get to Sioux City by noon he had to throw it out. And THEN I emailed him and said I could make it up in the afternoon and would he place it by the dumpster? He had no problem with that and the price is now free. So here is how I'm bad.... I don't drive anywhere where I'm not familair by myself. My friend that was going to go with me still can, but not until late this afternoon, and now there is a storm advisory for this area from early eve thru Sunday. So.... I do not feel like taking a chance on going up and driving back in a blizzard. I would love an old washer but this one does not really "trip my trigger". If it was a Frigidaire or that Aqua Lady Kenmore I would take a chance. So, if ANY of you are in the area of Sioux City and want to get if for yourselves for free, than just go to the dumpster. It's an old apartment building the guy just got, and he's renovating. The address is 2110 Summit St. However, it won't be there after this week-end.

Chromacolor I was vying for the machines also.

If you want to go get it tomorrow i would be happy to drive but have a bad shoulder so would not be able to help you lift much. I think it would fit in the back of my CRV, they (Sioux City) are only getting 1 to 2 inches. I grew up with that machine would be fun to go get and restore. Let me know ? email me at Lokringbob@cox.net.
