Hey everyone! Hope you’re all well. As some of you may know, about a year ago, I took in a BOL 1984 G.E. Mark 27 range that was fixing to be scrapped following a kitchen remodel. Tonight, while I was baking with it, the 41 year old door gasket got damaged, and needs replacing. This model uses a WB2X2508 door gasket, which doesn’t completely seal the door. Only seals on the top and sides. Is there another gasket that I can buy (possibly one for a self cleaning unit) that will cover the whole thing?
Thanks,
Thatwasherguy.

1984 manual clean oven GE range

The gap at the bottom must be there for proper oven baking that allows air to slowly enter the oven, causing a little bit of convection currents in the oven and then vents out through the vent under the rear surface unit if you attempt to seal that you will have problems with excess condensation, and poor baking results.

The self cleaning oven door gasket will not fit the manual clean ovens.

I may have commented before, but I would not bother with a GE oven that is not self cleaning. They just are so much better insulated these manual clean ovens tend to get very hot around the top of the door and at the front of the cooktop But they do work well.
