I was at an estate sale over the weekend and found an early Maytag washer cabinet for sale.
Apparently, at some time, the owner gutted it, and made the front hinge outward! They installed a shelf and used it for storage.
I thought it was still complete, until I lifted the lid! I was thinking someone might be able to use the top and controls, as they appear untouched and almost like new. I am pretty sure the cabinet could be used too, but would need the holes filled where the hinges and handle were installed.
This is the model just after the first ones ('52-'53 I believe). It has the controls in the back on a smaller console.
If anyone is interested, it's in the Detroit area, and I can give you the contact info of the guy that has it.
