My 1979 Whirlpool LHA 7680N1 Washer Just Quit Spinning.
I induced it to spin by lifting the follower shoe (solenoid armature?). I noticed that this shoe is bent (no longer 90º).
The Spin Solenoid (in ass. 365998, new #84867) has continuity.
Do these get bent frequently? Whirlpool cant find a part number for this shoe/armature. Please help me with the correct name. Whirlpool did find a compatible washer model number S6733101W00 but couldn't tell what it was (military?) Is there some way to cross the part over to a later machine?

That part is called a plunger. Part # is 350384. They have been known to bend occasionally. You might also want to grease the end of the cam bar that it travels in. There is a roller assy that this cam bar rides in that causes the machine to spin. Make sure that bar moves easily in the slot. That is where you put the grease. Hope this helps!

 Thank you Coldspot66...

You were exactly correct. The lube had solidified and the spin cam bar was stuck.
I installed Horton H89814 Wig Wag kit W/ plunger and lubricated the spin cam bar roller.
It now appears to work perfectly.
Where should I have looked to find the correct numbers? Everyone has thrown their books away.

Glad everything worked out well. Sears website is usually a pretty good resource for looking up parts, but NOT to buy. You can get diagrams and part #'s. They still have listings for a 1960 Kenmore dryer that I have, though the parts are NLA.

Is it hot in here or just me?

 I'd be getting a diaphram too, if I was greasing my bar so it rode easily in the slot.
