Came with a brand new blue agitator, but I had an extra black one which is what this would have had. I was hoping I would find a red one when I lifted the lid. Oh, it also had the cutest washing stick inside, which is funny as I have been wanting one. This one looks like a small cane!

How fabulous Don, I saw that cute round Maytag wringer washer yesterday at that sale over in West St. Paul, I'm thrilled you picked it up.

Wow Don - this model N is just about mint! Glad you decided to bring it home - now all you need is a model E.... ;-)

That's a great machine, Don! Glad you had the correct black agitator to put inside. I like the fact that the old style logo is still in great shape too. Now, please go and release the tension on the rollers, until you're ready to take her for a spin! :-)

Ben, Don is fortunate enough to have his mom's original model E that she used!

Great find, Don, very beautiful. I'm still looking for one myself. It seems that all of the Maytag wringers down here are either overpriced, rusted-out and virtually beyond help, or both!

Hi Don. Congratulations on your "new" Maytag. It looks great.

Beautiful Model N2L, Don! It looks like someone took great care of it all of these years.

A little Monday morning patio washing, huh? :-) I love to wash outside!

You can use the turquoise agitator as a regular one so you can protect the splines on your black ones.

Hi Don. Love the Highlander agitator. Enjoy that beautiful machine.

Very nice to see that load running Don! Now, did you release the pressure on the rolls and pull the agitator when you were done? (arms crossed, foot tapping impatiently on floor) GRIN

very cool

Don that looks like the Maytag my mom had in their first house. It would have been new in 1963.
Congrats on an awesome find!

Don - Maytag Winger

Don,Congratuations on your Magtag find. My parents had the exact machine for about 10 years when my mother finally purchased an automatic washer in 1978. We sold the old machine to a neighbor who own a farm and farmhouse where he had many Mexican seasonly workers. The last I heard, this machine is still working. My Grandmother had a square machine Model J2 for as long as I can remember. Also, did Maytag ever had a double square tub with winger? We had a neighbor who had one and she would use one for washing and the other tub for rinsing. Do you have a owner's manual to go with you machine (Model N2)? If you don't I have my mother's manual that is in fair condition. Since I don't have the machine any more, I would be happy to mail this to you. I think my late mother would be happy to see that this booklet would be to good use.
Just let me know if you would like. Again good pictures!!
John

That has to be one of *THE* cleanest wringers I've seen. Congrats on your find!

Nice!! Congratulations, Don!!

Okay, so I know this is probably a question of the uninitiated, but is that lint-filter agitator the same as what pops into a Highlander, or are the splines different?

I saw the last pic with the skinny agitator, and then, hello! Lint-filter agitator.

Very nice!! :-D

Filtertater

I love to watch the water splash over the top of the lint filter. I spent hours watching the old Maytags and knew I wanted one. The splines are place lower in the agitator column. If you pull one out of an Automatic the splines just barely engage and the agitator kind of rocks on the top of the drive post. Before this organization I had no idea a filter agitator was ever available for wringer washers.

The skinny on the agitator......

Geoff Delp brought me that agitator for the E2LP I have that we redid last summer. He told me that was an upgrade agitator for the wringer washer, not an automatic. Rich it is a very clean washer, and soooooo quiet to run. I couldn't let it go, it would have been crushed I am sure as I was at the sale at the very end! Spiceman, I believe that this machine uses the same manual as the E2LP, which I so have but thank you so much. Anybody that knows me knows I like to have the manuals!
