I don't have a pic, because it didn't dawn on me that it might be more serious than annoying. If it happens again, I'll photograph it.

The '63 Kenmore has developed an annoying squeal during spin. To make things more interesting, after the last couple of cycles, what looks almost like muddy water has spittered onto the tub ring. I'm guessing it's something that is exiting the top of the agitator and being flung out underneath the agitator cap when it spins. Ew!

Any ideas on what is causing this? I can't say as I've seen oil come up through the agitator post before on a Kenmore, but based in my prior experiences with the brand, I can see where there is a first time for absolutely everything.

I'll study this further and see if I can determine a more definite point of origin...

Could be water getting into the centerpost bushings and forcing the turbine oil, that is supposed to be in there, out.

Thanks, John...any ideas on how water could be getting in there? This has an all new base (and obviously, centerpost), transmission, inner tub, outer tub...the list goes on. The water level has not been messed with, and I don't add clothes after I start the machine.

Weird!

I'll have to see if I can figure where it's coming from...
