WU500

My family had the WU500 dishwasher. That dishwasher cleaned dishes like no body's business. Noisey as heck but it could clean!

I come from a family of seven (2-adults, 5-kids) and it was used once everynight loaded to the brim. Everything always came out clean. It lasted almost 20 years.

Such a shame they are not made that solid anymore.

Thats the DW my mom had, new in 1982! Sadly it expired in 2004...
If only I'd known then what I know now!

Wow! Amazing to see old 1970's Maytag. Just a darn shame it has gone to the dogs now. And I now very scared Maytag would be slapped on a so obvious WP DW, like what happened to the W/D pair.

Adding to my 70s list,
the lattice wallpaper, the oval formica table and chairs,
the dried flowers,
the spindles,
the 70s multi-colored chart comparing different models. and so much more.

It is ashame about Maytag. It wasn't my first pick, though I never had anything against it. But Maytag was Always the Top of the line. To see it the way it is now is just sad. Of course, that can be said for the original Electrolux too. Amana once had refrigerators and KitchenAid had to the best dishwashers.

Greed isn't fun. It is unabated greed that has been eroding this country in the last 20 + years. It has caused the needless demise of some of our worlds favored brands and products in the name of "operating" efficiency and profit margin. Call your Senators and tell them you don't approve. Every voice does count.

I admit, I am not such a fan of the 80s anymore.

I knew someone that had the 300. Great machine and cleaned really well. But really noisy. I wish they would have continued this rack design.

We had the WC300 convertible/portable in white. I loved the water circulating, but the pump-out was similar to a freight train whizzing at top speed, right through the kitchen.
