I put this year's final work into the Super Unimatic, finishing up Super Unimatic 2.0. The major changes since the last round of pictures Moving the detergent dispenser to the inside of the machine, make a new hinged lid, designing a better softener dispenser flume so there is no chance of one drop of softener falling into the outer tub and using 3 coats of POR-15 along the top where I've done so much drilling to prevent any rusting. Also I have completely redesigned the user interface Here are some new shots... |

I designed the detergent dispenser with two inlet flumes, one from the top and one to sweep the floor of the dispenser. This way the dispenser is completely flushed free of detergent, even with tap cold water. I cannot stand some of these modern detergent dispensers that do not flush every last bit of detergent into the wash tub and leave a mess after.

That is just too cool So, what do you figure a consumer would have to pay to actually have a machine like that one of it was available on the market? |

Talk about absolute control! I have never imagined such total control over a washer and its cycles before. Robert, you must have the cleanest clothes in town! What a masterpiece! |

So, what do you figure a consumer would have to pay to actually have a machine like that one of it was available on the market? To be honest Andrew I haven't the foggiest idea. It would be really expensive though I sure Good luck trying to find a Whirlpool Duet on the curb to work with though because they are VERY DURABLE machines!I've seen at least three of these in the Alleyway trash over the last few years Are you going to make it dry and fold the clean clothes next? <: No, but I'm thinking about Super Unimatic 3.0 for next year already. 240 volts with 20amps like a Miele, 240volt heater, something to accurately measure the water temperature and something to accurately measure the rpm's of the tub and display both of these readings on the computer screen Robert, you must have the cleanest clothes in town! Thanks Allen, Actually I have noticed an improvement in the Whiteness of my whites with this machine quite drastically. |

You should have a form of illumination for the basket and the outer cabinet. You also need a way to control all those suds. Maybe using HE detergent. |

WELL, just stick a knife through my heart why don't cha! You've gooooooooot to be kidding me, *Serina looking down over the top of her sunglasses at you*Why in the world would you want to control all of those beautiful cleansing suds? Don't you know that you'll have cleaning failures without heaping suds Mister! This machine thrives on tons of suds, the suds help remove dog hair and lint from the clothes. Someone hasn't been paying very close attention to my Super Unimatic threads now has he Can your washer thrive on lots of suds, if not there is probably something wrong with it. Hmmph, *I'm poping out of the room now with one of my grand exits* |

Sorry. I've not seen the older Super Unimatic threads because I just discovered this site last June. I'm just teasing you Funguy, forgive me. You are young and haven't seen 40 and 50 year old washers before so I assume you didn't realize that some older washers handle suds removal very well. Here is the last big Super Unimatic Post.Where in the world did you get such a beautiful 63/64 vintage agitator??? *swoons*Hi Nate, I found it brand new in a box, never used in a basement in an old store in rural Iowa. *swooning back at new rings Oh dear, THIS LOOKS LIKE IT'S GOING TO BE A JOB FOR THE Super Unimatic 2.0! |

Just a detail: when I see all that foam, doesn't that cause problems with the fabric softener? In one of the pictures the fabric softener dispenser is full of foam. |

and you in that flowered blouse!Remind me to pack it along with the pretty hat that goes with it. ; when I see all that foam, doesn't that cause problems with the fabric softener? In one of the pictures the fabric softener dispenser is full of foam.Hi Theo, actually I don't know because I didn't use any fabric softener in this particular wash load so the dispenser was empty. I would think that if the dispenser had softener in it, what ever suds happen to spin near it would be killed immediately. This particular load tonight was just a test of some software refinements I did, I made some fine tuning to the oversuds segment. I used old clean clothes and triple the amount of detergent for the test, normally I do not achieve anwhere near that amount of suds. The suds that were spun into the empty dispenser got flushed out during the rinse cycle so all was well for the next "real" wash. |

that's what I live for : look at the hues of green, the translucent blow fish at three o'clock, the coordination of the green in lint chaser and circulator with the cloth at nine o'clock and the multi-color at 3, the gray,military-green, and blue of the bubbly totally alive water. Just study the photo and dream, B's and G's (boys and girls), and then the poor little weeny at 11 o'clock--what happened to his stream:-D The perfect pulsator: always though it was manufactured later in Frigi history as a replacement ; never knew it was once an original installation. What does the machine it comes with look like? Clueless Is there an aerial shot of the spray rinse at work on the suds. I'd die for that Amazing!!! and the smothering suds--breathtaking!!!!!!! yukyukyuk wah wah |

Hey Jetcone...Mission Accomplished....Uni`s out at the gym working off the burger and root beer we had for dinner after working out at Sears washers in the Mall of America...soooo back to the task.. Have changed the relays, swapped the grommets, switched the dual micro thing with the patched up timer and just taken it through its paces.. It now swings the drum mid cycle to a front loading action, refuses to operate unless PERSIL is used, and shouts...Bendixxii, Bendixxxii any time Uni comes near it..O`h lordy, I`m gonna get slapped all the way back home for this...my defence is " Please Sir, HE made me do it...LOL |

A Super-Unimatic is on it's way, scads of vacuums and two washers from AZ have arrived and we've filled 2 dishwashers with dinner dishes last night - it MUST be a party!! 22 for dinner last night, lasagna, salad and bread made for some messy KDS-16 and Roto-Rack Bob Loads. There are piles of washing to do and always vacuuming to do around here so today will be another busy day... Wish everyone could be here, it will be a fantastic time. |

Robert should have stayed closer to his Super Unimatic. With nothing to do but evil customization, we came up with our own improvements to dress up the cabinet of the "SU". We've added curtains, badges, a filter pan and a bobble-head dog to warn of off-balance load conditions! (only a bunch of gay men could make curtains with duct tape and have it look good!) |

Who knew that GM was building a Windows based washer with Whirlpool Catalyst technology for Sears in the 50's. Also their own FD Jet Spray system that showed up 20YRS later. I LOVE IT! Does this come in a Card-Scan Laundromat version? :) One Question, how did FD get this past WP into the KM lineup? In all reality Robert, VERY nice job. WK78 |

Just discovered your creation!
The software is my favorite part - pure art (curtains) and science (all else) combined....lotta kavorka. It's like peering into a research lab, humor and all. You know they add curtains and dance on top of washers and dryers in development, too? Nice work, Robert. (Latte Kavorka in the belly of that machine) |

Thanks for the link - video was interesting- love those clustered rinse nozzles....can't quite appreciate how quiet it is said to run.
Then another video poppped up - one many have probably seen - from TLChannel video - had seen it when we had cable ages ago. Just like all the aw.org members, the vintage collection stops me in my tracks. I love how it's organized. "Are they gay?" LOL!! and ..."I dunno, I like their house and colors so neat..." What a great collection -I wonder how much your house and collection has changed since that TLC video? You have to be outgrowing it soon? |

That's awesome! It really, really is Years back I did something similar with a belt drive. I substituted the timer for a computer controlled PLC, but it was nothing like this at all. I saw the U tube video, all washers should be like this LOL. I hope you do more washers like this. If I lived near by I would actually buy one of those... imagine a modern or vintage top loader using user made custom cycles... 1 minute long spin spray, tailored prewash, overnight soaks finishing with a full wash, the limits are endless! |
