I don't know the color prefix letter, but it looks to have a suds saver. Note the blue lower portion of the control panel and the chrome strip across the front. Beautiful machine, all that turquoise and chrome, it just screams clean! How far off from a match was the turquoise cabinet from the turquoise agitator? Also, did this machine sudslock? I doubt it! I love that Maytag sprayrinse! Dave |

Partridge Family was on the pilot show. Shirley Jones was doing laundry when Cassidy and kids needed more back up with their band. Somehow I just remembered it. |

Granny's Maytag dryer was GAS. The pilot access panel is clearly visible in long shots. Lawrence/Maytagbear |

~In Six Feet Under, Mrs. Fisher had a KDS16 in Avocado Green in her Kitchen. Always looking out for those incredible KitchenAids! And then *POOF* it was a Caloric in avocado. I dont' recall exactly what brand the avocado colored gas stove was, but I do recall that is it considered to be a major collectible now! IIRC there were Maytag W&D both in the mortuary and in the residence. Then there was the episode of I dream of Jeannie where Jeannie's evil cousin Jeannie puts Major Nelson on a spit of the rotisserie in the small eye-level upper oven of gas stove. Was it was turquoise? For effect the gas flames could be seen in a straight line (left-to-right) just about licking the human "roast". Careful, has sound! CLICK HERE TO GO TO toggleswitch's LINK |

Mrs. Anderson (Father Knows Best) had a Westinghouse slant front and I think the set the Severs ( Growing Pains)had was a Hotpoint. |

"Harold": I can't say for certain. But from sideway perspective off from a distance, they looked like early 1960's Kenmores. The washer in particular looked like the model that was a step down from the Lady Kenmore model of that year. --Charles-- |

What washer did Aunt Bee use on the Andy Griffin Show? She kept it out on the back porch, don't recall seeing her ever using it though. |

But did you see what Betty was trying to do with the Maytags? I like Mad Men too, but it's not flawless - the ceilings in the Sterling Cooper office are panels that did not come along until later and I have never seen panels and lights so nice and clean in real life. This is on a show where everyone smokes too.

I will hand it to the set designers on "Mad Men", they got that washer and dryer spot-on for the time of the show (1960) - it makes sense that Betty would be getting intimate with a machine two years old. Obviously, the installer didn't tighten those lock-nuts on the washer's legs or it would never shake and walk about the room like that! Maybe Betty loosened the lock-nuts on her own? |

Hazel had a coppertone Bendix Duomatic at one point. Dennis the menace also had a Bendix Duomatic at one point. I only remember a Bendix front load washer on Father Knows Best. I don't recall a westy slant front. I remember a TV commercial jane Wyatt did for a Lady Kenmore set. She mentions something to the effect, I was always diong laundry as margaret Anderson.

Mama's Family had what looked like a 1960s Kenmore 70 dryer and a Kenmore washer, but they weren't matched set. On the drma "Family" the washer was a Frigidaire and the dryer was a Kenmore Combo washer/dryer. Maude had a coppertone Magic Chef Kitchen. Eight is Enough had avocado laundry, but I don't remember what they were.

Speaking earlier of Hazel and her Bendix Duomatic -- what kind of car is that featured in the title credits/opening theme scene in the 1964-65 season? It looks like a 1965 Ford Galaxie to me. |
