Cute little "bow-tie" MM. Steve 1-18 has one but I can't remember if it has a "bow-tie". Brent is a good dishwasher "wizard"---might want to post a memo to him. |

Use it regularly for a while - the seals may soften up and begin functioning again with some use. Very hot water and get it all loosened and lubed up again...that sounds bad, but it's possible that your dishwasher just needs to be used. Mine dripped for a few loads when I first got it, but then stopped as I used it more. My friend Jamie has it now and hasn't mentioned any dribbles on the floor...

What exactly is that "part" that is being leaked from? Do you know? |

I would have to guess that the rubber spout is there to divert water away from the motor incase of motor/impeller shaft seal failure. It appears that the carbon face seal needs replacement. I would start by taking off the impeller and taking out the motor, then examine the seal. You most likely will have to replace the seal with a generic one. The reason the machine only leaks when the motor is not running is centrifugal force pushes water away from the motor shaft.

Robert, Would you have a picture of what I'll be looking for ? I don't have any repair manuals for this machine. Or would you know a club member that has worked on one these ? I have the KD2 and the KDS figured out as far as repairs, but this one...I would think it should be pretty basic. Thanks Very Much, Eddie |
