Another favorite of mine is the Montgomer Ward Signature 18 I think. My grandma had one. It was big and made a loud whirring noise and a fast moving burp-o-lator type with a lint filter that sat on top of it. It had the lid that opened from the left. And I would stand in front of that thing for an entire afternoon.

After joining automatic washer. I finally realized the connection with Norge. Another great name.

Anyone have pictures or video of that?

God I wished I could have been an adult back in those days before those machines went yet about extinct.

Manning, you're correct. They are loud and splashy. They show up here once in a while and do have their fan base, so stick around and one is bound to turn up, perhaps in video form.

I'm a huge fan of Norge/Wards washers! I have a deluxe TOL '74 Wards Signature washer & dryer, and a '64 Norge washer & dryer, both in great working order. Will try to post pics one of these days soon! They're such fun!

Ben (swestoyz) has a great video featuring a "BOL Wards!" on YouTube, you should check it out.

Ben's Video Rocks

Thanks for posting. It started bringing back alot of memories for me. They way it filled and the rinse before the spin. Total Recall.

I can almost hear the sound of it now. God I wish I could find one of these. I'd give top dollar.

Thanks for sharing guys.
