Hi everyone - My current washer re-do project has presented me with the challenge of finding a usable large capacity outer tub. Most of the porcelain coated steel outer tubs are no longer available from Whirlpool, and they were quite expensive when they were available. If anyone who has worked or works on these has a spare used outer tub hanging around that you want to get rid of, especially for the largest capacity models from the 70s and very early 80s, please let me know - I am willing to have it shipped here. Most of the used appliance shops around here kept a couple good ones on-hand 'back in the day' and I did too, but I don't have the right one to fit this current project. If you have something, please e-mail me or reply here and we can talk in detail about the capacity, etc. There were dozens of tub configurations for the various models over the years, but I can make several of them work in this machine.
